Hi
If you were to locate yourself in your life’s journey right now, where are you? How did you get there? Where has God been on this journey? Are you okay with being where you are?
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. Exodus 3:1 NLT
Have you ever really stopped to contemplate Moses’ story? Born Hebrew, raised Egyptian (IN A PALACE!!!), early adulthood a fugitive and a stinking shepherd. He went from Slave Quarters to River to Palace to the far Back-side of the Wilderness, by the back end of the mountain of God. (Yes my Jamaican peeps, this qualifies as back a’ God back!!!! Sorta kinda.)
Isn’t it ironic, when he was at his lowest – socially, intellectually and economically – Moses was actually much closer to God’s presence than he thought. When God is about to reposition our lives, we sometimes find ourselves “Back a’ God back”, far from where we had envisioned us to be.
And, it’s not that God can only work with us from there. Rather because each of those experiences is CRITICAL to the next leg of our life’s journey, we get relocated! [Today, I’m speaking primarily to myself]
So, how’s life back a God back? Learning any lessons while watching the sheep? You never know when you may be called on to lead some two-footers.
Or are you in the middle of the River? Remember that God’s got plans for your rescue. And even then, you’re protected by the hand of God.
In the palace? Hmmmn don’t get too cozy. There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip. Glean what you can, experiences are there to benefit you when you get repositioned, and to keep you strong when you land on the far side of everything.
Near or far, social activist, social butterfly or social outcast … God’s got a plan for each of us. Only be still, and be open to God’s timing for our lives.
Thanks for joining in this Divine feast.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
