“Every Israelite man and woman who was willing brought all these items to the Lord as a freewill offering. They brought these items to be used to make everything the Lord had commanded through Moses.” Exodus‬ ‭35:29‬ ‭GW‬‬

Free will … offering … Everything

In a sense, this is what it boils down to – If we are WILLING; God invites us to make a Freewill Offering for Everything God commands. And before we get it twisted – God, in Jesus Christ, has done exactly the same for us. Perhaps we remember those famous words from the Garden, on the night His trial began – Abba, if You permit, take me out of this. BUT; not My Will, let Your Will be done (Luke 22:42; Matthew 26:39). Although His sweat became like tear drops; Jesus, our Exemplar, raised the standard set by the Hebrews.

While we know that Jesus Christ IS our Standard-bearer, we are nevertheless permitted to Choose obedience to God’s commends as we seek to walk IN God’s Purpose ON Purpose. It’s not always going to be fun. It’s not all going to be difficult. It will definitely deepen our relationship with God and probably a shift in behavior.

Because it is our free will, no one can/should Force us into obedience. And because it is an offering; we don’t get to set terms and conditions for obedience. Not at all. And because it’s unto God, then it is understood that the most acceptable sacrifice is our Whole Selves. Not Whole as in unbroken certainly; but Whole as in entire. This is critical as we tend to be selective in our giving ourselves to God; sealing some aspects from even God, figuring we can get by.

Not so

God desires our whole selves – body, mind no spirit – to be invested as our own offering, in all we do and say.

Sounds like a plan? We can do it!
