Nougat 2

Have you ever stopped to think about Who God is? Consider today’s Holy Nougat™️

“But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including Israel, his own special possession. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name!” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As Creator, there’s no doubt that God existed prior to Creation, and thus God is not an idol. Yes, God ought to be the sole subject of our worship, but that’s not reason to treat God as either nonexistent or a figment of human imagination. This invites us to identify the people, objects and/or places that are receiving inordinate amounts of our time, talents and treasure. What have we placed on a pedestal that needs to return to normalcy? What do we need to let go of now?

If our relationship with Jesus, God’s Spirit, and YHWH – all Three in One – then it may be helpful to start the relationship right now. Thanks to prayer, we can ask God to self-reveal. I guarantee you won’t regret it!

Of course, we will have questions. Especially if we have traversed the road of disaster, disappointment or distress. It is understandable that we find ourselves trying to regroup after such moments. For sure, a mother who miscarries, parents who are witness to the suffering of their babies/children and can’t see God intervening, anyone who has suffered for the faith may have a moment of wavering faith. You are not alone – John the Baptist had such a moment (Matthew 11; Luke 7).

I have had a few of those moments myself. Even after reading David’s confession that the righteous are not alone (see Psalm 37:25). For it’s hard to imagine God permitting some of what we experience, while seemingly allowing others to get off scott free or performing miracles for them, while we missed out on a similar breakthrough.

But what if we chose to invite God to reveal God’s self to us? Moses did it and lived (see Exodus 33). We may think of Moses as possessing great faith – and he did – but he suffered from crises of faith at least twice. For, operating in the knowledge that he was born to make a difference for the Hebrews, he took Justice in his own hands. And was ratted out by another Hebrew. That’s what transformed him into a fugitive for forty years (see Exodus 2). His response to God’s invitation to lead the Hebrews to the Land of Promise was No. And even when he finally said yes, he insisted, ’Show me Who goes with me, for I dare not go alone’ (Exodus 33:17-20).

And God self-revealed

So what prevents us from engaging God and walking in all God has called us to be? New year, new opportunities to experience God’s grace and glory for ourselves. Lord, we love You, please reveal Yourself to us and banish our doubts in You. Forgive our questions about Your power and live in us once again we pray dear Y’shua amen

May all we seek be found in Christ
