Hi
Don’t you just wish sometimes that Life was accompanied by a user manual? I can’t guarantee that I’d actually use it regularly; however, in a pinch …
Today’s Holy Nougat suggests that there is a means to the user guide. Are a ready for it?
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Psalms 16:11 NLT
According to the psalmist, our God Possesses said user guide. And in those moments perhaps our true recourse is to ask for direction, rather than attempt to design our own solutions.
One might argue that the Bible is the guide book (Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth); and that would be true. David asserts in Psalm 119 that God’s Word illuminates his path. Wouldn’t that be great?! However, we don’t all agree on how it ought to be used. Some elements are actually prohibitions, although they only reference someone else’s experience. Others, are encouraging.
And some others are clear instructions which we may choose to follow.
In addition to the Bible is one’s prayer life. Prayer is the live and direct conversation with God. It powers us up, and, should we be open to listen, affords us the opportunity for live and direct direction from God.
Jesus himself offered direction for Life in John 14. In fact, we are assured that He is the Map and Guidebook rolled into One, with the Holy Spirit as our personal Guide. Amazing!
And all this access to navigating Life’s paths is ours for the taking. We only have to ask.
Consider what direction you’re needing today. And before consulting friends or others, pray. And having prayed, let’s listen for the nudge of the Lord. Be open to confirmation from the Bible, friends or other sources. Then act.
May our hearts be attuned to God’s divine GPS.
Shalom and salaam.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
