Hello

How do we think when in a pinch? Do we panic, seek wisdom or pray? Something to consider as we chew on today’s Holy Nougat

Sometimes i wonder what motivated Lot to opt against the valley. Was he remembering the fall out between his and his uncle’s servants? Did he feel that Abraham would have revealed in his humble circumstances? Was he feeling like a failure? Did he desire an opportunity to start afresh, adhere he was an unknown (wouldn’t they smell the soot)? Was he being heroic? What on earth was he thinking?

I also wonder whether he would have made that choice of he knew what the future had in store for him. But we hardly ever have that luxury eh.

Let’s take this nougat on an even more personal plane. God has rescued us from clear and present danger – you know the situation, that one you underwent … or wished you had – and sends an Angel to transport us to a level place. What determines our choice of new accommodation/city or country of refuge? What motivates us to ‘save’ one of the places marked for destruction? Why not negotiate for others?

In times of danger and conflict, what or who becomes our reference point in decision making and in prayer? Who has the real influence: self or God?
