Hello
Have you ever established your perfectly sculpted plans only to see them go up in smoke. I can hear my Jamaican folks quietly saying, “Man a plan but God a wipe out.” Or, the Solomonic writer in Proverbs 19:21 saying “Many are the plans of a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s plan which will prevail.” I can hear the saints of old singing ” If you know the Lord is keeping you, what you gonna worry about? If you know the Lord is keeping you why don’t you sing and shout, Glory hallelujah, praise His name; every day God is the same. If you know the Lord is keeping you, what you gonna worry about?!”
The fact is, as a Christian, I claim that I place ALL my plans in God’s hands; yet, many a moment my plans are what I’m prioritizing with little or no consultation with God.
I know, I know. It’s kinda weird to ask God for approval of our plans, but we hardly chafe at the bit when we have to ask our boss or others for their approval eh. So, it really shouldn’t be an issue. Especially when we KNOW beyond the shadow of a doubt that in God’s case, it is our interest which will be priority. For, we are reminded, ALL things work together for good to them who love the Lord, who are THE called, in keeping with God’s purpose (Romans 8:28)
Which returns us to the well executed plans, disappointment and opting to leave the stuff in God’s hands, and take the funk elsewhere. Because if God is God, and God is; then even the mess has purpose, and it will be fine according to God’s plan.
Lord,
Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
