It is said that everything which characterises an oak tree can be found in the acorn. And yet, it takes several years to fulfil its potential. First it must fall to the ground, be buried, take root and then burst forth from the soil. After, the sapling undergoes the maturation process before seeming to come into its own.
The same may be said of us as followers of Christ …

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3 NLT
Each of us has already been gifted with success, power and support for our spiritual journey. But, like the acorn, we undergo a process of rebirth and maturation. Perhaps it is time to ignore the voices round about which could abort/hinder our development, and choose instead to focus on Christ, the source of our glory.
May this hope encourage and sustain us along the way.
