Alright, alright!
I’m ready to admit that I need some kind of help. This is not even remotely funny the second day running. I prepared, edited, hit send; checked to see the copy return to me and while it was there … Poof! The message disappears and was not sent. Why?! How?!
Here’s today’s nougat from the missing half of the text
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Luke 11.2b
Although many of us are no longer under a formal imperial system, many of us may be familiar with the concept of a monarchy.
Back in the day, a monarchy ruled absolutely. Whatever happened in the empire usually complied with the ruler”s desires. We think of Queen Vashti, who was banished when she decided not to dance for her drunken king. And of Esther, her successor, who went into a fast to ensure that the mind of the king was shifted to the redemption of her people.
But what of the most important ruler of all? The Creator of our lives? Do we consider that if God’s reign is really to be established on earth then we must actively be aligning our purposes with God’s? Are we mindful that we shouldn’t take anyone to task for disobedience; until God’s will is resolutely obeyed here on earth by us? That that one, maybe two commandment with which we struggle – Love the Lord with all our heart and soul and strength … and our neighbor as ourselves – is about ushering God’s will on earth? Right in keeping with God’s heavenly reign?
And before you report to me about someone’s non- compliance; here’s two things
A. How’s your compliance?
B. Can’t take your response, cause I’m working on my own
