Nougat 18

Have you loved on God recently? Even if it was a moment ago, we can practice as though for Heaven. Consider Today’s Holy Nougat

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they were created

and have their being.”

Revelation 4:11 NLT

Worthy

What would it look like for us to be in continued worship? Can you imagine how pleased God would be? Can we hear the angels chinning in with song and accompaniment? Maybe that’s why we’re able to make a joyful noise unto God, and it’s okay. For if the angels are providing back-up vocals, no famous musician is avoid to top that.

In our Nougat, it is the 24 elders who are bowed down in worship to God, with even their crowns down. For me this signifies total surrender. In John’s vision, this happened every time the four living beings gave honour to the Lord our God. And they were doing this every single day! While the jury is still trying to discern their identities, I’m taking it as a reminder to us to be caught praying. Morning, Noon and Night. (This is something I’m working on too). Because the God of our salvation is worth all our praise and more.

Since worthy speaks to ‘Showing the qualities that deserve the specific action or regard’ (Oxford Languages definition), then saying God is worthy ‘to receive glory, honour and power’ indicates that we see in God qualities that proves God deserves to be

– renowned,

– esteemed above all else, and

– authorised to act in full capacity.
