Hi there,
How was yesterday? Great, I hope. How do you deal with dilemmas?
Here’s your Holy Nougat™ for today.
In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. Psalm 34.6
This is a reminder for the tough times. A good old time saying in Jamaica was, “When trouble ketch man, pickney shut fit him!” (i.e. When a person is in a quandary, they fit in a child’s clothing. But that is not what we are encouraged to do by the psalmist. Rather, we are invited to cry out to the Lord.
The joy of this nougat is the God response. There’s TWO elements; Firstly, the psalmist is assured that God LISTENS. Isn’t that a relief? To know that God is never too busy to hear us, especially in our stressful seasons. That is incentive for us to keep the connection open with God. Secondly, we are told that God DELIVERS us from our dilemmas when we cry to God. So it is not only angels who are dispatched to our rescue, but the Lord (God of the angelic hosts, the Lord MIGHTY in battle) is at the ready, prepared always to right or wrongs.
Sounds like GREAT news to me! So when trouble ketch yuh, no draw fi pickney clothes; call on the NAME which is ABOVE every name, call on Jesus. He listens, and he WILL deliver!
In Christ.
