Nougat 17

In these times, it is somewhat challenging to remain focused on Christ. Distractions and temptations come at us from every angle. And when the going gets rough, we may prefer to take the easy way out. I hope that each time we’re inclined toward any decision, we pause to pray first. And, as we listen for God’s response, we consider Today’s Holy Nougat

‭Matthew 16:26 NIV‬

[26] What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

Is it worth it

As we look to God for direction, we must count the cost of our decision – not just ‘what’s in it for me financially or materially’, but more so, how will it affect my spiritual future?

If we only look at the present, it is possible that we fail to factor in the long- term effects, especially if we’re responding to external stimuli.

If we’re watching what everyone else, Christian or otherwise, is doing, we might find ourselves on the wrong side of God’s will. At that point, the devil made me do it has no bearing on the consequences we must face.

So we make decisions conscious that God is vested in the outcome of our plans. God’s desire is good always. Every single time. No matter what. No matter who. No matter where. No matter how it seems. So, regardless of what the odds present, let’s choose God’s way.

Moreover, let us be known for always choosing God’s way. It may not be popular now, but it is right. It also keeps us in Christ, providing grounds for the accuser to be silenced on our behalf. I mean the accuser of believers here, not the human who may be acting under the accuser’s influence.

So what shall it be – the ‘attractive’, quick fix, or God’s way? The choice is ours. Here’s a short video clip for our consideration.
