Fire, Fire, Fire! Fire fall on me. On the day of Pentecost, Fire fall on me!
Hello
Today many churches are celebrating the birthday of the church, symbolised by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Jerusalem disciples. Do you have any memory of your church’s celebration/recognition of Pentecost? How do you mark the occasion?
Here’s your Holy Nougat for today.
He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.Titus 3:6
Conversations about the gifts of the Spirit and the manifestation of the presence of the Spirit are sometimes sticky. Today, I urge us to focus on the gift, the Giver and the nature of the gift
The Gift: God’s Truth which leads to Life, Repentance and Redemption … God’s Truth, the Holy Spirit, manifests in different ways to point to the Power of God unto salvation
The Giver: El Elyon, Our Most High God who made us a little lower than angels, and who always seeks to enhance our relationship.
The Nature of the Gift: a lavish connection to the Source of all life through Jesus our Saviour. Not a stingy hint of God’s grace, but a fulsome anointing.
And all we have to do is receive God’s gift to the church for ourselves.
Lord, thanks for the gift of your Spirit. May we apply your Truth for life with wisdom and discernment. We seek a fresh outpouring to renew us to you as we improve our relationship. Reveal, restore and renew our lives dear Lord we pray, in Jesus’s name, amen
Blessed Pentecost
