Hi
How do we register care for those who mourn? Do we have a responsibility toward those whose loved ones have predeceased them
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 NIV
Having shared a vision of Christ’s return and its impact upon the bodies of the deceased, the Pauline writer explains that the vision should be a source of comfort.
Can you picture it – visiting with the bereaved, explaining the Christian/Pauline perspective on Life after death as a means of encouragement? And we do offer similar bits of encouragement, even during the funeral. Perhaps it is even comforting to those who mourn. Especially if supplemented by prayer.
At times, however, bereavement support requires one’s silent presence. Recognizing the moment is not always easy. But the Lord does. And cares enough to tell us if we ask.
In Christ, let us resolve to be comfort to those who mourn … in Haiti, locally, regionally or internationally.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
