Nougat 13

today’s Holy Nougat

“See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15 NLT

You know what Lord? I think there’s a few bits that didn’t have to be included in the Bible; because some of what you require of us is tough going. To overlook the wrong that others have committed against me, as though it did not hurt; and to continue as tho the trust is still perfect – that’s truly hard Lord.

Yes it is hard; if you choose to look at things from your own perspective. But I don’t invite any of you to partner with me without having the end already in place. And the end I have in place for you IS your doing good for each other, no matter the cost. Even if it hurt.

And it does hurt Lord. A lot. Each time I see them that’s what is first in my mind. So much so that I want them to feel the hurt I felt. I know You wish otherwise; but Lord; ‘thy will be done’ isn’t what my spirit wants.

So what if I insisted on punishment for you every time you sinned? Would you even be around now? Or are you okay with that? And if each of you hurts the other, won’t you all be walking around maimed? Do you really think that that is my will for the world? When any of you hurt, I hurt too; especially when it results from maliciousness.

I’ve thought about that from time to time Lord; and I really want You to have mercy on my sins. But even with that Lord; I am finding it hard to let go. I need Your help, please. Forgive and strengthen us for the journeys along the way. Help us to live the Word even when it hurts.
