Blessings one and all
Today, an old favorite is on my lips, “Tribute” – good song. It reminds me that we need to stop and say thanks from time to time.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8 NLT
In an era of self-made men and women, today’s nougat may be a bit jarring. The notion of being unable to take credit for our success (or the success of others) doesn’t sit well with us all.
But, of a truth, Salvation cannot be brokered or negotiated for by any individual. Only redeemed through Christ’s blood. Not ours. As a result of our sin. Not His. Now that’s Love.
There’s few responses available in that regard: pretend it’s all a lie; mere gratitude, or offering ourselves in thanksgiving. In the words of another song-writer, “… Love so amazing so Divine, demands my soul, my life, my all!”
