Hello
It’s the weekend already. Hope you are ready for it.
Here’s today’s nougat
And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 2 Kings 5:10
With all the horses and chariots without, Elisha must have known his ‘guests’ had arrived. It was HE who told the King to send Naaman over to be healed.
But when Naaman arrives, Elisha dissed him (i.e. He disrespected his status) by sending a messenger out to him!
What motivated Elisha’s action? Was it fear, was it disrespect, was it putting Naaman in his place as a heathen?
Could it be the testing of Naaman’s faith?
Sometimes, when we seek God’s intervention, it feels as though we are ignored. Not even an angel is sent to check whether we dashed our feet against stones. Does this mean God has dissed us? Is God impotent, is God punishing us for some reason, are we outside of God’s grace?
Could it be the testing of our faith?
In Christ’s love and grace
