Hi,
How’s it going with you?
Today’s nougat June 12th
You set a table for me right in front of my enemies.
You bathe my head in oil;
my cup is so full it spills over. Ps 23:5
Having passed through the most potent danger, we become aware of our Savior’s presence. We are assured that it is well. Then there is the act of anointing – an action for for naming a king, the heir apparent; our an action to remove any pest from one’s body which may have affixed to us during that unwholesome journey in the valley of the hint of our demise.
What sins, what pests might currently be affixed to us, seeking us as hosts, while destroying our very essence? And yet, Christ’s power anoints us anew and removes all unrighteousness from our lives.
One writer reminds us that the hottestbattle assures a sweet victory, perhaps a paraphrase of this very verse. Are we in the valley right now, do we need the assurance of being marked as heir apparent, can we feel the anointing removing the home of sin and dis-ease which seeks to overcome us? Surely a Saviour this sweet, this loving, this attentive deserves our praises, even while we are in the valley?
Let’s praise God for the outcome, focusing on God being with us in or valleys, praying to foil the enemy’s plan. God is with us, leading the way to our true inheritance, let’s claim it shall we?
