Hi
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!”” Mark 6:37
Most of His disciples had left all to follow Jesus, and even then; there were several low income disciples in that boat. Yet there was Jesus, telling them to feed the masses. 5,000 hungry men; plus their families is no easy feat. A food bank today would probably close if they tried to accommodate so many families at one go! That was just impossible!
Nowadays, Jesus doesn’t ask us to feed 5,000 families in one sitting – not unless we’re working with displaced persons – but He still invites us to partner with Him to achieve the humanly impractical and impossible. How do we respond? Or are we so overwhelmed by the immensity, impracticality and impossibilities that we fail to hear Jesus.
Note, Jesus said; ‘You feed them.’ This was in response to the suggestion that the people be sent away hungry as there was no food prepared; and certainly NOT for that crowd! From Jesus’ vantage point, there was enough. He was enough. And He desired to make the impossible possible with THOSE disciples. For whatever multitude or giant we face, Jesus is probably ready to make the same offer – ‘you do it.’, He says.
Are we listening to the deeper message – I’m about to manifest something awesome through you – or caught up with numbers and immensities? If Jesus says so, let’s go in His strength; knowing who and Whose we are!
We can Do/Face/Effect the impossible when Christ sends, empowers and accompanies us. Confirm it’s Jesus and go in God’s peace.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
