Here’s today’s nougat
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13.2
Saul’s first call to ministry came while he worked – albeit for the wrong cause – and this critical call came while he ministered for the Lord.
Could it be that the Lord prefers to work with those who are on fire for ministry over those of us who are lukewarm? Lukewarm-ness is about allowing the fire of the Holy Spirit – which dwells in the heart of every believer – to be dimmed to nothingness. Often times, our lukewarm attitude is spurred on by a (sub) conscious denial of God’s ability to do what God says God will do. And in some instances, we are crippled by fear which prohibits our praise in actions.
Today God is calling us to a work which had been set aside for us to accomplish. Are we listening? Are we ready to answer? Are we open to serving in the ministry God has earmarked for each of us? Or are we crippled by lukewarm aspirations? How shall we respond, and when?
Remember, God equips the called and calls the serving.
