A quick reminder about worry in today’s Holy Nougat
“God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him. Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack.” 1 Peter 5:7-8 CEV
What a blessed joy – God loves us! Individually and collectively. Despite our sins and regardless of what we or the world think. It doesn’t mean that God condones sin. Not at all. But it does mean no one gets the option to classify us as outside of God’s love.
That being said, it’s time to retire our fears. Especially since dear extends the chasm that our sinful nature created. So where does that leave us? – I’d say, in a very good place. For though we are urged to remain vigilant, it’s not the kind of vigilance that requires us to lose sleep because we are patrolling our physical premises or property.
Rather, we are invited to be ‘woke’, ie to be conscious of the spiritual obstacles set by the enemy of our souls. Knowing that, we yield to God’s Spirit – Who fights our battles for us. (This could be a moment of thanksgiving to God for the precious gift of life and love.)
So again, the way forward is prayer and intimacy with God. Starting now! Let’s not waste time.
