Hungry for something which satisfies the heart and soul? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35 ASV
Now that’s a tall order! Jesus as Bread and Living Water, or good and drink! And not just any food or drink, but the essentials.
Years ago someone told me that each of us is created with an innate hunger for God, that is – a need to worship. If that is so, they continued, each of us searches to find that which satisfies our hunger. Should that argument be true, and I’m sold on it, then it means that feeding on Jesus would satisfy our hunger. Problem is, sometimes we make the wrong choices, selecting objects and people instead of Jesus Christ.
Now, feasting on the Bread of Life doesn’t make us unsusceptible to temptation. But for many of us, Jesus really satisfies that desire to recognize and honor a Greater Being than ourselves. If you haven’t met Him up close and personal, if you have not tasted for yourself and proven that Jesus is good; I urge you to invite Jesus to reveal Himself in a real way to you. Make that request every day for a fortnight and see the difference you experience. And if you have merely been bumping along as a Christ follower, maybe it’s time to take the relationship to the next level by asking Jesus to rekindle the desire to be His. Or ask Him to reveal Himself as Bread of Life and Living Water to and through you! I guarantee that something will start to shift in your space.
Fill my cup Lord, I lift my cup Lord! Come and quench this thirsting of my soul! Bread of Heaven feed me till I want no more, Fill my cup, fill me up and make me whole!
