Hello
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” Ephesians 5:10 NLT
Sometimes we find that there are little gray areas about which jacts render us God-Pleasers. Otherwise, we know and ought to do right by God for pleasing God is part of what keeps us going.
But then, the little gray areas – when is it ok to take items beyond what we’ve been offered? Is it ever ok to use a little ‘white’ lie? And of course there are others. Moreover we recognize that sometimes obedience to the ‘Law’ is displeasing to God. (Remember the Pharisees, Saduccees and Teaxhers of the Law? – they were obedient to a fault, but their attachment to rules over compassion hurt God’s heart.
The joy is, when we please God, we open ourselves for greater blessings. Even (make that especially) when it goes against our ‘natural’ instincts. I’m sure we’ve all had those moments. And, as we increase our trust in God’s timing and provision.
Our challenge today, should we accept it, is to listen for the Spirit’s nudging. And having been nudged, listen for what God would have us do, and obey. Implicitly.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
