How do you relate with God and do you have any attachment to the Word? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.” Ezekiel 3:3 ASV
The Word of God is the sweetener needed for our bland lives. And, when applied correctly has the power to transform us forever. It is good for body, mind and spirit; offers salient advice, challenges our complacency and comforts us in our brokenness.
But first, we have to have a yearning for God and the power of God’s Word. Note that the prophet was encouraged to allow himself to eat the scroll. Having not tasted of God in such a manner, he might initially have been apprehensive , but we realize that his diligence was rewarded. Would that that were true for each of us.
It is interesting to note that the prophet was fed by God/an angel, not another human. Yet he was called to share God’s Word with others (some of whom would find the Word to be bitter and unyielding). Could it be that if we are hungry enough, we may ask and God will provide the relevant insights from the Word needed for our situation? Possibly, considering that the God-human encounters shared in the Bible were unique. There may have been elements of similarity, but they were not the same. It stands to reason that God meets us at our point of need and feeds us accordingly.
If you have not been experiencing God’s transformational power through the Word (the eternal Holy Nougat); put God to the test and invite God to make it real for you today. And taste for your own self to discern whether it is like honey to your mind.
May God add the increase to each of our lives through the power of the Word.
