“This time Jonah obeyed the Lord’s command and went to Nineveh, a city so large that it took three days to see it all.” Jonah 3:3 NLT
Runaway. Attempted suicide. Outright disobedience. These were the key elements of Jonah’s ministry AFTER being called by God to minister in Nineveh. Granted, Nineveh was hostile territory and NO Israelite was welcomed there just so. Plus, Jonah didn’t like them. We don’t know why he despised them; but had he had his own way, Jonah would have cursed Nineveh and left them cursed forever. And he hated the Ninevites to the extent of arguing with God.
Despite all those, God never gave up on Jonah, nor Jonah’s assignment, nor Nineveh! Rather than punish Jonah or allow his suicide attempt to succeed; Jonah was rescued not once, but twice. He found passage on the ship and was saved from a watery grave. And when that was over, God’s Purpose awaited Jonah. It was not reassigned. Jonah was still ordained to minister in Nineveh. Nineveh was still in need of deliverance; and God was still bent on saving the entire city!

Where is your Nineveh?
Have you come to the realization that your past does NOT impact God’s plans for your present or your future?!
Perhaps it’s time to repent and forgive and let God be God.
Are you a Ninevite? Have you been crying out to God for transformation; interceding for your city? God has heard you. Dry your tears. This day God has heard your plea. Jonah is no longer ignoring his appointment! God’s got this
So today we watch as God’s purposes unfold. We rejoice and are glad
