I recall once telling the Lord that I did not wish to be blessed with patience as patience is preempted by tribulations. But, in order to move from babe to mature spiritually, there are some situations which we MUST face. Head on.
The truth is, many of us face tribulations. And in those seasons we tend to focus on the pending glory, not the suffering; on the destination, not the journey. But no matter which aspect of the Bible we choose to focus our meditation from, both Testaments are clear that trials comprise a core aspect of spiritual growth.
And some trials require patient endurance. Especially when seeking to walk in God’s will.
I pray God’s strength to each of us no matter where we are on our journey.
