Hello
Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
“But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.” Acts of the Apostles 14:20 NLT
He was beaten by the religious authorities and left for dead.
Folks, this was in Paul’s day. Nevertheless, persecution for the Gospel is very real. It is a reality in some countries where Christianity is not the primary religion; and in some ways it is a reality in the world around us. We might not be flogged and left for dead, but the tacit move to silence us exists in different ways.
More critically, how familiar are we about the underground church or of religious violence which takes place by/against Christians? Whilst we are not able to be physically supportive (most of us), there are other ways to stand with the persecuted:
Praying for them – by name or country – and for direction on how to stand
Prepare care packages for them as is feasible
Petition for their human rights
Publicize what you know so others may get involved in pushing for change
Those are good starting points; some of us have more
Lord
Wherever Your children are reviled or persecuted for the sake of the Gospel, we invite Your healing mercy. Restore health like you did for Paul and where there are human rights violations; show us how to stand in the gap.
Show us individually how to get involved and afford us the opportunity to be support. Open our eyes and hearts to the reality of suffering around us and the desire to alleviate such for others.
Be glorified we pray dear Jesus amen
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
