Gmorning
Have you ever been in a rough spot and wondered How you got there? Especially when you’ve reflected on the chain of events that led you there? Sometimes it’s not about us – it’s all God. Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“But Paul shouted in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”” Acts 16:28 NRSV
Imprisoned to save a life!
WOW
Sometimes it’s challenging to see God’s hand amidst our life circumstances. Just imagine, Paul is busy sharing the gospel up, down and around town, and gets arrested for it. And yeah, while we could argue that Saul earned it, Saul had repented, was now Paul and was innocent of any legitimate crime.
If that wasn’t enough, while there (in jail), God’s angel basically effected a prison-break. But Paul didn’t choose to walk away. Wide awake in both the flesh and the spirit, Paul sensed that there was more to the release than his own physical freedom.
He waited
And sure enough, as day follows night, he was correct. For his pause saved at least one man’s life and awakened him to the joys of life with Christ.
In a similar way, we also face life-altering situations. Whether false accusations or wage freeze, abuse, illnesses or death; we all have moments in our faith walk which tempt us to ask, “My God, where are You?” And well we ought. Having asked though, it may require us looking beyond ourselves to see that what we undergo is about others, sometimes persons with whom we are totally unfamiliar. Which requires that we ought to Listen for God’s directions even in the worst situation. For only then can God’s glory be revealed, and perhaps a life get saved.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
