Hi
Hope you are well. Have you heard of the historic cat 5 hurricane – 205 mph winds? Times are a changing. Are we taking heed.
Prayers to my church folks who are burying a friend and mother and wife and sister today. My heart is with you. I’m still in shock.
Here’s today’s nougat
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19.14
Have you ever suffered from Foot-in-Mouth disease; open mouth, engage foot? That ailment occurs when the mouth runs ahead of the brain and what is uttered is somewhat embarrassing. Or are you a plain speaker who has to speak your mind, only for it to cost you later? Perhaps you might be the perfect diplomat who has the perfect poker face which makes the thought which could get you in trouble?
It’s what we say, how we say it, why we say it, and to/with whom we say it that matters to God.
So first, I apologize if my words have offended you or anyone you know in the past.
Then I urge myself to engage brain, THEN open mouth. To not aim for the last word; rather the healing or comforting word.
I will encourage myself to listen and engage, rather than listen to attack.
Perhaps then, my words and thoughts will be acceptable to God
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
