Hi
Top of the day to ya!
I trust that In the midst of life’s busy-ness, you are finding time to enjoy the best things in life.
Here’s today’s nougat
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises into his name, o Most High. Psalm 92.1
Why would thanksgiving be a good thing? Shouldn’t God already know that we appreciate what has been done for us? For, if the shore was on the other foot …
There are many reasons to give thanks, most of them good. Sometimes we even give thanks in the hope of having our own way …
Thanksgiving is easily conflated with adoration, but out really isn’t the same. You see, I can be thankful for what someone has done and yet hate their guts, although it’s not as easy to adore someone and practice ingratitude.
Although our focus verse speaks thanksgiving, I invite you to consider what would result in your adoration of God.
Perhaps jumpstarting the process with lines from Elizabeth Barrett- Browning’s sonnet. (And we are not restricted to 14 lines)
Lord God
How do I love thee, let me count the ways …
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
