Have you ever had one of THOSE days? Yea, one of those where you can’t wait for tomorrow, when today will be yesterday – past and gone?
Well if you’ve been there, today’s nougat might prove spot on.
Anyone who lives in the shelter of the Most High (God), WILL abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
This verse was gifted to me twice during one of those days. And during the receipt of the first installment of the gift, I heard the Holy Spirit telling me how to share this. Here goes
I’m 3rd in a line of super- achieving sisters. There were five of us – Four girls attending the same high school and four of us born to my mother. They all have their strengths and are all accomplished in their own rights. Far often, folks would confuse us – although in our eyes we are dissimilar.
One teacher often called me by my sister’s name, despite the fact that head never taught her. For the most part, as the younger sister, I lived in their shadow. Being in their shadows had its pluses and minuses. Folks expected me to be exactly like them (I couldn’t stay on key, wasn’t quite the dramatist, wasn’t brilliant, and wasn’t vivacious and conversational), but they also KNEW that messing with me meant endangering themselves.
Living in God’s shadow also implies that folks SEE the family resemblance even when we don’t. It means folks who may not KNOW the Almighty personally just might call us by the Almighty’s name (yeah that’s why we’re called Christ-ians), AND even though the shoes are PRETTY hard to fill; folks often look to us to reflect the gifts and anointing that Christ has. And you know what? God has equipped us to reflect Christ’s glory! And we only need to dwell in that Secret Place. Now that’s the kind of knowledge that transforms every one of THOSE Days. Every single solitary time.
