Ever feel like you’re in the middle of enemy territory? How does a body respond?
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
So King Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem sent messengers to several other kings: Hoham of Hebron, Piram of Jarmuth, Japhia of Lachish, and Debir of Eglon. “Come and help me destroy Gibeon,” he urged them, “for they have made peace with Joshua and the people of Israel.”

So knowing that the God of Jacob was with the Gibeonites, the king Adoni-zedek sought reinforcements to accompany him in a battle of his making. Can you see the outcome already? God’s Word affirms that enemies are made into footstools; and further, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, we’re more than conquerors. Sounds like Gibeon and Israel had already won that battle! For the battle was not theirs, it was the Lord’s.
Hmmmn
That’s the whole point. What seems like our battles really don’t belong to us. Not even the battle for our souls. Not at all. So, let us listen for our CO’s directive (i.e. our Commanding Officer) and allow the battle to be fought accordingly.
Especially, when we’re meeting opposition for siding with God’s justice and integrity. Especially when we’re minding our own business and Satan brings the battle to us. Especially when they’re ganging up on us because we chose the Right.
When the strife comes, check that we’re in God’s Right. Then let’s invite God’s intervention when the hordes of Hell are upon us, and it seems that we’re defeated.
Lord in your mercy, cover us your children in battle. You are the King of Glory and we give our allegiance to you. Be glorified we pray, in Jesus’s name Amen.
