Hello
Have you ever thought about the first evangelists? How did you picture them? What would their qualifications be? What would their most distinctive feature be? Let’s savor that a while as we imbibe today’s Holy Nougat™
The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them. Luke 2:20 NLT
So even before the adult Jesus meet the woman by Jacob’s Well, the good news of Jesus was shared with some shepherds. I’ll admit, I have speculated that part of the logic was to connect that analogy with Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Regardless of the connection, we’re told that the shepherds were all abuzz with praises to God for including then in the good news.
We cannot assume that the shepherds were highly educated, or that they anticipated what God had in store for them. Likewise, we are invited to share the good news of Christ. Regardless of what we or others think about us, we also have good news to share with others.
Without further ado, let’s share the good news with someone today.
Thanks for joining us in the Divine feast.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
