How are you, basking in a day off or back at work? In either situation, we give thanks for God is good.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Romans 8:17 NLT
The joy of belonging. No matter where we are, we might not fit in, we might not be highly regarded by family or friends, we belong to God.
Now that’s good news right there. In fact, that’s the message of the Gospel. We are God’s heirs. We have an inheritance which we can begin to enjoy here on earth, we don’t even have to wait on heaven’s glory.
What we often overlook in the good news is the fact that there’s some suffering (light affliction) which comes with the glory. Ironically, that’s also good. For we know that especially during our season of pain and peril, God is with us. It may feel as lonely as the dark hours of the Crucifixion, but God is with us. And God’s grace will sustain us through the good and the bad.
May we seek God’s grace in the glory moments and in the times of suffering. I pray we all are ready for either.
