Greetings
Several of you responded personally to the prayer request … Others did so in private. For those who sussed it out and included the birthday blessings, much appreciated. You all helped make my birthday so blessed.
A few of you have asked about sowing into Holy Nougats, thank you for your offer. For those who are interested in giving a love gift … send me a note, I’ll respond privately. For those who think that giving to ministries goes against biblical principles, that’s okay. I hope you gift your church/pastor through your tithes and offering.
That being said, here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
For who can know the Lord ’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? Romans 11:34 NLT
Do you have days when you wished you knew enough to advise the Lord? Probably not that you’d own up to. Yet, many a moment, we find ourselves trying to solve our problems (sometimes other people’s also) as though we have been promoted to God-status. In most cases, when such plans backfire, we invite God in – as the last resort – and wonder why the Lord took so long to intervene. (Did I get an ouch, rather than an amen). Could it be that we’d gone and taken on the role of advisor to God? The Creation ought not seek to outrank the Creator.
There are times however, when it is possible to know God’s thoughts. We all have equal opportunity to be exposed to how the Lord thinks, through the Word. And when some folks operate under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, their prayers may reflect God’s voice. And that’s partly why we might ask others to pray for us. (As I did yesterday)
That doesn’t qualify us for moving into intentional sin. It doesn’t give us the right to make decisions for God. It doesn’t reflect the example given to us by Jesus (… “If you wish, let this cup pass”)
Here’s the Good News, if we recognize that we’ve opted to take on advisories, repentance gets us right back on track. It’s not too late. Let’s commit to recognising God’s divinity in all we do.
