Nougat 28

Hi there

If challenged to list our life priorities, where would being with Jesus fall? Seriously. Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.” John‬ ‭21:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

And there he goes again – this time, he’s not undertaking a drowning drill, but he’s still as impetuous as ever.

The setting is the sea. Peter and the others reverted to fishing in the absence of the resurrected Jesus. Nothing happened for them, until Jesus instructed them to cast the nets on the other side . The net is literally overflowing with fish, the catch too much for me man or even one boat. All hands are needed on deck – then Jesus’ favorite recognized Jesus – and Peter literally bailed out

Right out of the boat. Into the water. All threat of drowning forgotten. Fishing forgotten. The super catch forgotten. Peter was headed to Jesus. Nothing could stop him

In a sense we could say Peter was like a devoted pup. Always near its master. No doubt about it – Peter loved his Master, and would do almost anything to be in His presence. Even to take on the watery depths.

That’s Love

That’s dedication

Regardless of how we feel about him; Peter’s attitude to Jesus challenges many of us who’ve claimed to love Him.

• When Jesus finds us reverting to old ways, do we continue as though all is well

• Can we accept ourselves enough (warts and all) to make our way into Jesus’ presence

• Have we made Jesus our number One life priority; forsaking all else

My dear peeps, is it time for a rethinking of our priorities?
