Nougat 9

In times of trial, and sometimes when we face temptation, we are agitated to the extent that we become sleep-deprived or emotionally drained. Oftentimes, we are not at our best, and we might even be a bit unbearable to be around. As we reflect on today’s Holy Nougat, I encourage you to join me in prayer for rest.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

I like the idea of being at rest under God’s intervention. For that’s essentially what Jesus offers. Although it is an invitation for spiritual and emotional burdens, I can’t help but imagine that this offer is also valid for physical fatigue. Well, I am taking it for that too.

With that being said, and given that there are prior nougat reflections on this; let’s pray.

Dear Jesus

Used as we are to criticism, we cannot

fathom Your willingness to take on our mess. We don’t like being ignored, more so, being taken for granted. And while we sometimes discreetly take Your love for granted, it feels somewhat reprehensible to intentionally come to You with the sole purpose of dumping our mess and then walking away.

Yet we don’t have to walk away, because You also offer us Rest. We do have Your permission to Rest in Your embrace, in You, for Your pleasure. Now that’s Love.

Help us recognize Your Love and also to respond accordingly. I’m tired right now Jesus, may I find rest in You.

Having received the rest, may we remember to give two thumbs up (), or 5 stars so others can know and seek You also. For that is what the Sychar woman did – she found Your Rest, and having realized she shared it with her entire village. And Lord, You DIDN’T reprimand her! You offered them Living Water that also refreshes.

Thank You Abba for being so generous and I am taking You up on the offer. Be glorified in me after my beauty Rest and continue to keep me in You I pray dear Jesus, amen
