Nougat 31

Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Although we already know that Jesus has provided us access, it may be helpful for us to remember that as followers of Jesus, we are expected to reflect a godly lifestyle.

Under the law, erm … maybe few of us could qualify, but as a rule we can’t make it into God’s holy hill. Some of us have already made a few mistakes in our new day and it’s scarcely begun. The same applies for sincerity and honesty also. And what temptations like stealing, back-biting, or even gluttony. Are there others that we might need to address?

So even as we start our day, let’s be still. We reflect on the moments we’ve sinned and pause to confess. And, as we confess do we feel the forgiveness that only Jesus can offer wash over us. The only thing left in this moment is to offer gratitude for God’s grace.

This is where it gets good. We can respond to His grace in like manner by extending the same to someone else. It may be an encouraging word, or choosing to overlook a wrong done to us. But whatever it is that we do, we do for God’s glory through Christ Jesus.

We also ask for a divine reset. You know, the grace we need to help us sin less. For it’s only by His grace that we qualify for God’s presence. That’s why He came – that you and I can spend time together with Him in the here and now as well as the hereafter.

Jesus, since You are Emmanuel, we ask You to be actively with us today so we can see You, hear You and follow You. Take away our doubts about being in Your presence and our fears of messing up. Remind us that You forgave us long before we decided to seek You on Your holy hill. We are Yours dear Jesus, we offer ourselves to You. Thanks for the gift of forgiveness and the blessing of Your presence. Be glorified in us today, dear Jesus, amen
