“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NRSV

For Our Sakes
Beaten
Ridiculed
Scourged
Scorned
Humiliated
yet You grace grace,
bestowed mercy,
offered forgiveness,
and made room for me
Somehow – as only You can,
You conquered Death
Wrested from the Pit
Redeemed us
Restore us
Offering anew
A new opportunity
to join You in Paradise
From Death to Life
For all our sakes
You paid the price
for our sake
That in You,
we who are sinful
might become
Righteous and whole
We groan
Creation groans
Your Blood makes new
It is finished – You cried
But in Your Resurrection
it’s
Just begun
for our sake
as Your intercede for us
in eternity
—
May all we seek be found in Christ
