Nougat 9

He would enter the car with his backpack on. Sometimes forgetting to slip it off. I’d gently remind him to take it off, sometimes unsuccessfully; despite the fact that he was being taken directly to his next meeting. Occasionally I left it at that, but often I’d pester him until he laid the bag beside himself.

Weird isn’t it? Except that that’s often how we approach the Lord. I’m not sure why; but we do just that. We enter the presence of God fully laden with our baggage and burdens. Bent over even. And there’s God, inviting us to let go – of our baggage and burdens.

Our response – we hold on even more tightly; to the point of self injury even, failing to realize Who is inviting us to let go. Until finally we relinquish a little bit, still holding some back.

But God is still calling us, gently reminding us about our freedom to let go and unburden; just like in today’s Holy Nougat

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” Psalms 55:22 NLT

Will we take God’s awesome offer? There’s nothing to fear.

Good morning dear

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
