Hello

At the time of this typing, the death toll in Jamaica continues to rise for no apparent reason. We’re not under terror alert; there is no civil war; elections are long gone, yet the bloodshed continues. And unfortunately, this is the norm for some of our countries in the region. When Lord, hmm.

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 NLT

Although I’m not always keen on the light-dark dualism for sin and life in Christ, the recent power outages in Guyana and Jamaica have once again placed things in perspective for me.

Darkness can at times be palpable. And in those instances, there really is a desire by many for light, brightness and clarity. Then, even the glow of a candle or mobile telephone can make a difference for one to make their way around what was once visible and familiar. And it feels so welcoming and engaging. Perhaps that’s why God is referred to The True Light.

The current state of violence in the Caribbean feels like we’re in a perpetual state of blackout/power failure. And perhaps we are, in the very literal and spiritual sense of Power. Of course, we are not alone in our challenges to stability and security. Even here in the US, the news bombards us with the varied threats to sanity and security here (across the fifty states) and abroad. That being the case, it sounds to me like God is calling YOU & ME to bring the Light of God’s Presence to a song and troubled world.

And, like the illustration indicates, even one of us CAN make a visible difference. However, if fellowship with each other means combined light force from the Super Power Jesus Christ Himself, then we -combined- have the potential to blow out the tangible forces of darkness which would seek to overwhelm and conquer us.

Let’s shine God’s Light of clarity upon all the various isms within the body of Christ which would prevent us from having fellowship with each other. Then, let’s share the Light of God’s Love with a dying, broken and shattered world.

May God’s blessings be yours as you join in this project of transformation and renewed hope.

Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
