Nougat 9

Published on

Two words. Just two words. Depending on when they’re heard they reflect dreams or regrets. Two mere words; “If only …”, followed by context clues. Have you ever expressed a hopeful If only? Something to chew on as we prepare to feast on today’s Holy Nougat™

They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by. So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Luke 18:37-38 NLT

For this blind man, it is somewhat easy to imagine his “if only” moment. Can you hear him muttering to himself, “if only I could see”; or, “if only there were someone to help me out of this darkness, anyone!”

Not only was someone HEARING his wild hope; but when the opportunity came, he was on it like a flash of light! That blind man recognised the moment and seized it for what it was worth. Moments such as those (Kairos moments) are not readily defined or recognized. However, they are clear responses to our “If only’s”. Despite his blindness, the man had to RECOGNIZE the moment for what it was in order that he could act.

What about us? Are we poised at the cusp of our Kairos moment? Can we recognize it? Are we prepared to press forward to our transition?

May God strengthen our resolve.

Thanks for joining in this Divine feast.
