Whew!
They were finally across the Jordan. They made it – unlike many others. For the most part, this was the second generation Exodus travelers; ALL but Joshua and Caleb were born after Egypt. Kind of a brand new slate of people for the brand new country!
It was a new beginning.
God’s new season with them.
Yet, most of this generation had known God’s provision in ways that would have convinced them that God had them covered. Manna and quail supplied daily without fail (‘xcept on the eve of Sabbath of course).
When they settled down, did they wonder what God would do next – were any of them curious about their next meal? We’re they prepared mentally, physically and/or spiritually for whatever God would do next? What did God do next?
Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“The very next day they began to eat unleavened bread and roasted grain harvested from the land.” Joshua 5:11 NLT
Are we settling in our Land of Promise? Can we remember how the Lord provided for us on the journey? Do we wonder what our God will provide us next?
Some of us are still wandering around in the wildernesses. We’ve not yet made it to our Land of Promise. We might be tired of manna and quail – but the Lord Our God has already got us covered. There’s grain in that Land. God’s Grace is in that Land. Just as God’s Grace accompanies us here in the wilderness.
Sshhhhh
Feel God’s embrace and bask in the grace.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
