All is lost and nothing going right? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the face of imprisonment for speaking God’s truth about The Exile, Jeremiah received another message; one that could potentially transform the nation. The Exile had a time limit and when it ended, there would be scope to rebuild. And, even if there was nothing to re-build, the scope to build from the basics would exist.

Are we undergoing our season of exile, and if so, how are we coping? It may be that Psalm 137 is our portion – we are remembering where we’re coming from materially and spiritually. Our Nougat says, don’t lose hope.

Others of us are not yet in the thick of exile, though all indications are confirming that it’s coming is as sure as night follows day. We might be somewhat apprehensive as we try to design and determine our future. I propose that we take the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Jesus. In so doing, we will find the strength, because we have Jesus in our boat.

Ultimately, the decision is ours, whether we trust God to carry us through to post-exilic life or not. What will we choose?
