Good morning

How’s your heart keeping? Perhaps today’s Holy Nougat might offer fresh insights.

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 NLT

For some of us tho, it’s not that the heart needs guarding; rather our hearts need to be released into fullness of life. Our prior life experiences have already impacted our minds and incarcerated our hearts to the extent that we now have hearts of stone where flesh ought to be. And where that entails, we first need Loving Heart Surgery, performed by the most skillful of surgeons – Jesus Christ.

Just think

How have hurts, disappointments, failures or even (perceived) rejections affected our self esteem and, more critically, impacted our appreciation of our understanding of God’s love for us? How do the issues of the past determine our present relationships platonically and even intimately?

Where is our trust placed – in scientific reason, intellect, or the God of the impossible? (Here I hasten to ask that we answer honestly, searching the soul carefully; rather than offering the expected answer.) For the location of our emotions may determine the extent of the hardening process life has had on our hearts.

If we are tired of attempting to live the Full Life with a broken or stony heart; then I truly recommend we confess the emptiness and the pain and invite The Surgeon in. It is life transforming; seriously! It’s already paid for.

In full!

And, if your heart has not been hardened by the impact of life’s experiences; then indeed, it is the best time to place it under guardianship of the Blood of Jesus. It’s a very safe place.

So let’s indeed guard our hearts; by placing them under the care and keep of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It might be the best decision we’ve ever made.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
