So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 NLT
There are many things which have the potential to instill fear in our lives. In fact, some persons thrive on a bully mentality. They are happiest when instilling fear in others.
Jesus, the Truth says, “Do not be afraid” It is interesting to note that a variation of that phrase is perhaps one of the most popular in the Bible, especially at a Divine visitation. That’s understandable, for there there is a holy fear which is healthy. The others are not.
What are you afraid of? Is it a holy fear? What does God have to say about it? How did God respond when the fear was handed over?
Today, we have the assurance that God’s Spirit is with us even in the Valley of Shadows. That being the case, regardless of our social station in life, God has claimed us as VIPs. We are guaranteed heavenly security detail. We also have the ability to call for back up in those very fretful moments. How shall we respond?! What joy.
May we find God’s Peace, Presence and Presence to be sufficient in our moments of crisis.
