And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. Numbers 12:6
Although the circumstances were not favorable, Aaron and Miriam were being chastised by God for their rebellion against Moses, God’s Word is very clear. Prophecy was practiced as early as the days of Moses (perhaps before), and the prophet could expect to hear from God whether through visions and dreams.
There was in fact a closer way to connect with God, and that is as am intimate, of the nature of Moses.
Lord, that I could commune with you beyond the Holy of Holies as friend with friend is as a result of Jesus’s shed blood. Thank you for the gift of intimacy with you dear Jesus.
