Is there a difference in individual and collective building? Weigh in with Today’s Holy Nougat

Is it time to hand our cities, our nations to God? Despite the standing armies in most parts of the world, countries are just as vulnerable as if they were not armed. We need only to reflect on the devastation that Covid-19 wrought all over. It’s highly unlikely that the virus didn’t affect just about anyone directly or indirectly. And while lockdown, herd immunity and vaccination helped; the virus is not totally eradicated.

No custom officials could have stamped it out – despite travel restrictions. The same applies to wars raging globally – despite the trade embargoes put in place. We recall Rahab, whose geopolitical location on the city wall suggests that she may also have been gainfully employed, noted that the children of Israel were under God’s divine protection. She recognized Who was truly in control and opted to place her trust in God’s emissaries.

What city has God placed on our hearts and what is it we’re being asked to do? Would that role require from us? What is being withheld from the city, and is it something for God to solve. Opening up to God’s protection might be challenging, but it is a safe and certain option amidst the foment round us. And, though it is inconsistent with the nougat, could we be the sentries mentioned? If yes, what do we do to protect ourselves and our city? Is it time to hand the city back to God ?
