And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine.

Melchezedek appeared from nowhere and gifted Abram with a token for his faithfulness. His was the gift so sweet, the right hand of fellowship in the household of Faith. Can you imagine Abram, fresh from war with five ruthless kings, is greeted by God’s High Priest – the King of Peace (Salem) – and is served what we later understand to be the elements used in the Lord’s Supper?! Now that is a ground encounter with Divine!!!!
Body and blood offered in recognition of sincere and great Love. A foreshadowing of the One who gave His all for us all. His First visit was as Prince of Peace; the Second will be as Victorious King. He already offered Body and Blood, next he offers Access to Paradise. Have we already met Him/Are we ready to meet Him?
