Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”” Judges 6:14 NLT
What a Word!
For normal folks, it would have been a comfort, but not Gideon. But, before you judge him, consider this. Gideon was a very reluctant judge. He knew himself and his gifts; military maneuvers was not his passion. He desired no trouble with the powers that be. And moreover, his family was not Jewish priestly (probably dabbling in Baal worship; but they were not intimate with YHWH).
Yet this was the man God Chose to lead the Israelites out of bondage.
Why?
Could it be that Gideons an Orthodox methodology for threshing wheat indicated that he was a man of creativity and was ready to tear to be different? Perhaps God is looking for those kind of purses today. People who are on Orthodox yet open people who are creative yet malleable people who, despite their abilities, are ready to contend with God; and afterward obey.
What is God calling you to today?
Are you still in the winepress threshing wheat? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired of the status quo? Maybe just maybe that is God calling you calling me to be the agent of change for such a time as this .God’s word to Gideon was that he should go in his own strength because God would be accompanying Gideon. God sent Gideon with the blessing of God to go and to do; to go and to be; with victory guaranteed.
When God sends us forth, God will equip us and victory is ours. May God‘s grace and strength be yours and mine in all we do today and in all were called upon to do.
