Have you ever been broke? Not in between funds, but at the end of your reserves with no clue what’s next in your fiscal future with the bills awaiting? Have you ever been so broke that you don’t even try to cover the shame, because even the pride is broke? Then out of nowhere someone makes provision for you?
That’s how today’s Holy Nougat™ ought to impact our senses …
“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!
Isaiah 55:1 NLT
Spiritually, you and I were broke. And we were parched. Bone dry, spiritually wrung out, parched; and broke to boot. No fun.
But God.
Not only does God possess a wonderful line of credit (interest-free with no collateral needed); but we were offered the choicest of refreshment to quench our dry and thirsty souls.
How grateful have we been for the gift of grace refreshing? And more importantly, have we helped other broke, desperately soul weary travelers to tap into our Refreshment? Hopefully, we’re not being selfish and keeping God a well-guarded secret. Because that would be selfish. Especially since God’s got enough wealth and Refreshment for every single one of us who’s interested. We won’t lose out on our blessings if we share God with others.
So let’s pause for a minute and consider whether there’s anyone who’s dying and in need of God. For, if such a person exists, then it’s time to prayerfully approach and allow God to make an offer.
